Public transportation

The public transportation in Belgrade consists of buses, trams, trolleys and recently city trains have been incorporated. The first three come practically in all shapes or colors, mainly because of advertisement, so don’t be confused.

The ticket system is currently changing and it is expected to have 4 types of cards, for one ride, a few rides, a “credit card” and one for frequent commuters.

This transition period that should be completed until the end of 2011 will also bring many new features, such as vehicle’s GPS position, info on how crowded it is, etc.

As soon as we find out a bit more about these, we’ll explain it here.

Currently there are about 1000 buses, 200 trams and 100 trolleys serving 118, 12 and 8 lines respectively.

The city trains are new and unfortunately currently not worth mentioning.
